The time is now to ensure troubled youth have a safe place to be and guidance to heal their minds. Easter is the season of joy,
forgiveness, hope and spiritual renewal. And seventeen Parkland, Florida families will spend Easter wishing a teenager had a made a different choice. Wishing someone had intervened with hope and help. Praying no one else faces this.
Lutheran Services Florida offers hope-filled tomorrows through 60 different programs across the state.
Our counselors met Oliver when he was 16. He was bullied in school, which produced constant negative thoughts about his classmates, he felt numb to the world. He began to hurt animals and had an explosive temper. Oliver was brought to LSF’s Lippman Youth Shelter where he received compassionate care and a safe place. While working with our staff, Oliver received intensive therapy and was connected to a network of community support. Oliver now at 19, the same age as the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School gunman, is in college and leads a normal life.
